Historically praised as the noble grape throughout the Austrian Empire, Pinela is native to the Vipava Valley, and is experiencing a resurgence among new wave producers. Here, we’ve produced it as a full bodied, macerated white wine. Grown from two vineyard blocks with south exposition, the vineyards were picked by hand at full maturity. Vinification was carried out spontaneously via pied-de-cuve, with maturation done exclusively in steel. The wine was aged on fine lees, bâtonnage, and roughly filtered prior to bottling.
